Racist Attacks Against Our President Meant to Delegitimize Him!

mcclatchydc.com reports:
Black Caucus members said Joe Wilson's outburst is but the latest in a long string of ugly events rooted in racism, such as last week's flap over Obama addressing the nation's schoolchildren, protesters showing up outside Obama events carrying licensed firearms, and "birthers" questioning Obama's citizenship. Black Caucus members say such incidents are designed to disrespect the office of the president now that a black man holds it.

"I don't think that this would have happened" to a white president, said Rep. William Lacy Clay, D-Mo., a black caucus member. Wilson "wouldn't have done that to (former President George W.) Bush or any of the 43 presidents like that."

The push, experts said, reflects growing anger in the black community over how Obama is being attacked with venomous and false charges that he's a socialist, born in Kenya, a Muslim, and somehow un-American.

"It feels very O.J-ish," said Kathryn Russell-Brown, the director of the Center for the Study of Race and Race Relations at the University of Florida, referring to the racial divide in public opinion over the guilt or innocence of former football star O.J. Simpson for the 1994 murder of his white wife. Surveys found that white majorities thought Simpson guilty was and blacks didn't. Simpson was acquitted in 1995. "It's deja vu all over again. People have staked out their ground: 'It's about race; no it's not about race.'"

Rep. David Scott, D-Ga., also black, said that the racial undercurrent against Obama has been the least discussed aspect of his presidency. Scott said he experienced some of the racial vitriol aimed at Obama when someone painted a swastika on his Smyrna, Ga., office following a contentious town hall meeting on health care last month. One letter sent to his office addressed him as "Nigga David Scott."

"The folks* are not going to stand for socialized medicine even though negro's (sic) refuse to stand on their own two feet," another letter read.

Georgia's Johnson said that Wilson's outburst, and the House Republican leadership's response to it, gives a wink and a nod to racist behavior and that Tuesday's resolution was needed to restore civility.

"The other party has been stoking the flames of disrespect among the people," Johnson said, adding: "I guess we'll have people putting on white hoods and uniforms."

Keep your eye on the ball and sort out the legitimate differences in political philosophy between Obama and his opposition. That is what is important. All the rest is just noise.

I have gotten several Videos of Anti Semitic Father Charles Edward Coughlin in 1936-1941 and Senator Joe McCarthy accusing the Government and the U. S. ARMY of Communism 1954.

These Madmen of the Past teach us a lot about how the greed for money and power derange the minds of some powerful men.

It all started with Rachel Maddow that spoke of the importance of all these Right Wingers of the past ( include also the John Birch Society, the Birchers, not Birthers )

Jonathan Alter of Newsweek talks with Rachel Maddow about the Historical Paranoid Madmen in U. S. Politics. The John Birch Society and many other Conspiracy Theory Idiots.

Jonathan Alter wrote a book about Franklin Roosevelt : "The defining moment. FDR's Hundred days and the Triumph of Hope"

How did Roosevelt deal with father Coughlin ? ( A Nazi Racist, Enemy of Jews, calling FDR liar, etc... )

Harry Truman had Republican Senator Joe McCarthy in the Lunatic Fringe seeing many communists in Government.

All Democrat Presidents had to confront Right Wing Extremists. Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Harry Truman, John Fitzgerald Kennedy, Lyndon Baines Johnson, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, etc ...

Ex President Jimmy Carter condemns the Racism in Joe Wilson's actions and lots of Republican attacks. Jonathan Alter agrees with Carter.

See the movies of the Nazi Priest of the 1930s, Joe McCarthy, the Birchers, etc ... :

I gathered several videos of those Madmen and Monsters of the Past and those of Rachel too.

What Beck, Dobbs and Limbaugh Are Really Afraid Of

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/timothy-karr/what-beck-dobbs-and-limba_b_288480.html

Some excerpts :

Broadcasters get hundreds of billions of dollars' worth of subsidies and the right to use our airwaves in exchange for a basic commitment to be responsive to the interests of local communities.

Moreover, the Supreme Court recognized that "safeguarding the public's right to receive a diversity of views and information over the airwaves is ... an integral component of the FCC's mission."

Sadly, the FCC has failed to live up to this standard. And what mainstream media's fear-merchants are most afraid of is not censorship, but an FCC that actually does its job -- creating more opportunities for people like you and me to participate in media.

We don't have that now. Washington bureaucrats have allowed powerful media corporations to control the public airwaves and dominate local cable networks. We have reached a nadir where the free press that Thomas Jefferson hoped would open "all the avenues to truth" has devolved into a media system that's a megaphone for the few.

Beck and Limbaugh, in particular, are two corporate welfare babies who owe much of their existence to this regulatory failure, which handed control of our airwaves to massive conglomerates like Clear Channel and ABC Radio to broadcast their fear agenda via a syndicated network of centrally owned radio stations.

The cable sector that carries Beck and Dobbs' nightly paranoia is itself a gigantic bundle of government handouts, having built invaluable local monopolies via granted rights-of-way that beam these two into nearly every den in America.

Try calculating what it would cost to get your content across America without a local or federal government clearing your path, and you quickly realize that blowhards like Beck, Dobbs and Limbaugh are three of the nation's biggest beneficiaries of public largesse.

And while they're raking in millions in salaries via their government-granted fiefdoms, you, the owner of the airwaves and roads and telephone poles over which they transmit, are getting nothing in exchange.

The ultimate irony of Beck, Dobbs and Limbaugh is that they couch in populist rhetoric a message that, in its very essence, is anti-populist -- designed to protect the swindle at the core of our media system's failure.

Yes, and that is the basis for much of the opposition to Obama -- his greed for power. However, I don't think he is deranged. He knows exactly what he is doing and when he needs guidance, he consults the the Saul Alinsky playbook.

Maybe to put this in context you should report on the Williams sister outburst on the tennis court.

Obamabots take note. The president will deny (on meet the press) that the statements by Joe Wilson and others were racially motivated. Follow the leader!

If there is any de-legitimizing going on, it is due to not the lies of Obama but the things he implies, misdirects, and misleads -- so fluidly and incessantly that he risks transmuting eloquence into mere slickness.
Slickness wasn't fatal to "Slick Willie" Clinton because he possessed a winning, near irresistible charm. Obama's persona is more cool, distant, imperial. The charming scoundrel can get away with endless deception; the righteous redeemer cannot.
